So here is a little perspective on the damage we incurred last night. Compare these to the storm photo I put up earlier. The top photo shows the sign as it was from the 1950s through 1970s. In 1978 when my father made additions to the building he was required to reconfigure the billboard to its current dimensions. Then a few years ago we repainted it.

Our venerable sign, about thirty years old in its current form, was destroyed tonight by an incredible storm. Trees were uprooted and birds slammed to the ground. Unbelievable.
