1930s Aerial Photos of Monti’s & Mill Avenue

September 24, 2009 at 3:20 pm (Uncategorized)

A  reply to my newsletter that came with links to some great historic photos:

Michael,

Best wishes for an early recover from your surgery. I suppose that the
pun-like anatomical references in your missive such as “Afoot” and
“peg-leg” were either on purpose or subconsciously caused by the pain
medication for your knee. Either way, I got a “kick” out of it and enjoy
your “knee”d to tell local “leg”ends as re”toed” by others or viewed
from a different “ankle”. I hope that you “heel” real soon.

In case you have not seen it. The County obtained 1930 airborne images
of the canal system from the Smithsonian and, with the public’s help,
matched them to their geographic locations. Your building is easily
recognizable in the 2 images which I have linked below.
